Our feeders and feeder trays are designed with a custom sleeve that slides perfectly over a standard 4x4 planed cedar or pine post. Please ensure the post planed and is completely dry before mounting so the feeder fits properly.

No, we do not include the post or base mount. Because every yard is different, this allows you to customize your installation, whether you prefer digging a concrete footer, using a heavy duty lawn spike, or bolting a flat mount to your deck.

Basic assembly and installation are required to set up your 4x4 post, but once your post is secure and level, the feeder and feeder tray simply slides right on top and over the 4×4 post.

No. We use premium farmed cypress specifically because it is naturally weather and rot resistant. It will age and weather beautifully on its own. The heavy duty recycled plastic components and rust proof aluminum hinges are also completely maintenance free.

Yes. The top roof lifts open easily on its heavy duty aluminum hinge, allowing you to quickly sweep out old hulls and wipe down the interior between massive 2.5 or 5 gallon refills. Recommended cleaning solution is 9 parts water to 1 part bleach.

While our heavy duty cypress and recycled plastic construction is incredibly resilient, hopper style feeders are not inherently squirrel proof. If you have squirrels, we highly recommend installing a standard metal cylinder baffle on your 4x4 post directly below the feeder.

These feeders are highly versatile. We recommend black oil sunflower seeds however, safflower seeds, or high quality custom native wild bird mixes will flow perfectly and attract a wide variety of native birds to your habitat.
